Online Mix Exchange

Post by valetoile »

Okay! So let's all get spotify and do a mix exchange. I'm thinking the best way to do it is to choose a deadline and have everyone post the links to their playlists in this thread. We can do these once a month or so. Maybe we'd like a rather loose theme to inspire mixes?

So for a September 1 deadline, I'd like to propose the simple theme of "10 Songs I'm Loving Right Now"

I'm valeriebot on spotify if you want to find me.

20 Songs I'm Enjoying Now - I'll try to pare it down to 10.

Bonus! Here's my all Yacht Rock playlist from a pub quiz a few weeks ago.

Brad's worked for me, Valerie's did not. It was an empty list. User error on my part?

Hey I should post this here too, someone should make a playlist for teching (or several based on what type of teching), so everyone can always have a way to tech (by syncing offline playlists on your phone or with a laptop). It's a great resource if you don't have stuff prepared beforehand.

Did it work/not work for anyone else? If you search for my user name you should be able to find it regardless. You're listed as a subscriber to me.

Also, at first I thought you were giving a content review of the playlists. "Brad's worked for me, Valerie's didn't. Far too indie-heavy and precious." :)

I can see both of Brad's, but Val's playlist loads without any tracks? Could that mean the songs aren't in Spotify yet?

Your playlist just looks empty.

Heh. When you hear mine you will see that indie-heavy and precious is not an issue... ;-)

This isn't necessarily new shit, right? Just stuff we're listening to?

Weird, when I look at Val using the People list on the right, I can see 3 playlists (though it says she has 12 public playlists). Also one that I can see has no songs in it (but that is not the AIC one).

If I look at Shannon's, he's got 17 or so public playlists and I can see everyone of them.

Maybe free vs pay issue? I'm going the free route myself...

I like this idea! I'm going to do one!

I can only see one of Val's playlists and it's about ukelales.

Mine's not gonna be all new, just stuff I'm listening too lately. It's pretty random.

Val does have 12 public playlists as far as I can see (I'm a premium user, so it could be a free vs pay issue), but there's still nothing in that playlist. It might be because it's not shared? It might be because she's using local files rather than songs from Spotify? I'm not sure. It might be that she just really wants to mess with us.
