Hey, since Roy already had the same idea and is hard at work on the festival website idea, which I'm really looking forward to by the way, I thought I'd share another idea I had and see if it has any traction.
A lot of the theaters have their own blogs and I know that Spaz used to have an improv review blog (and/or still does?) but I was thinking about seeing if there's interest in a blog geared to share information about all the Austin related improv, kind of like Michael Meigs' blog for Austin Theater (http://www.austinlivetheater.com). Especially since the newsletter is gone now. The blog could be a place where one could read previews and reviews of shows and personal reflections on being in troupes and shows and so forth. I don't know, I haven't really thought this one through too much, so maybe it's unnecessary, could become self-indulgent and wouldn't generate the outside interest that I'd like it to.
But I had the idea, and rather than stewing on it for too long (like I did with the festival page), I thought I'd put the idea out there and see where it leads if anywhere.

To be fair, the lines are blurrier these days. How many blog posts have you seen with comment threads that dwarf anything on this forum? Not the best way to read a discussion, in my opinion, but there it is.Rev. Jordan T. Maxwell wrote:i would assume the standard differences between a blog and a message board.
The silver knives are flashing in the tired old cafe. A ghost climbs on the table in a bridal negligee. She says "My body is the life; my body is the way." I raise my arm against it all and I catch the bride's bouquet.

true, but the topic is, initially at least, a bit more focused to whatever the author is writing about whereas the forums are pretty much open to discussing whatever (also, from an outsider perspective, it would probably be easier to browse through a blog where they can skip the comment threads if they want to rather than wading through a discussion board). i definitely think there's room enough in this community for both.Brad Hawkins wrote:To be fair, the lines are blurrier these days.
