EPIC! is casting for our second run of shows. Our first run crazy fun and we built up a loyal following. We are moving to the Austin Variety Show space in Highland Mall and are ramping up our promotional campaign. This is an opportunity to get a lot of stage time in front of an enthusiastic audience.
This time around we will have evening shows on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month and afternoon shows on the 2nd and 4th Sundays. For the Sunday shows Improv skills will be emphasized and only 1 rehearsal a month will required (on the 1st Sunday of each month). The evening shows will included scripted scenes and fight choreography so a rehearsal on the preceding Wed will be required.
In addition to adding to our core cast I will be looking to add 1 or more "Guest Players" to each Wed evening show.

Auditions will be held Wed the 15th at 7:00 pm in the new space. To find us approach Highland from the Airport side - look for the 3 flags and go in. We are on the second level above the fountain. Look for the sign that says "Austin Variety Show".

EPIC! is a ton of fun. Imagine a show that's part improv performance and part D&D game. Audience volunteers are cast as heroes who must perform quests. Improvisers get to be villains, bards, supporting characters, etc. I myself have played a minstrel, a sea captain, and an evil priest. I encourage all improvisers with a geeky streak to sign up!
The silver knives are flashing in the tired old cafe. A ghost climbs on the table in a bridal negligee. She says "My body is the life; my body is the way." I raise my arm against it all and I catch the bride's bouquet.
Fun show
Part scripted for plot direction, part improv EPIC! runs like a serial. I have seen a few people purchase multiple tickets just so they could follow the plot over multiple shows.
Brad has it correct when he says its a blend of improv and D&D. I played as an audience member (Wizard) and had a fun time getting into character even as our party paid sacrifices to further our quest. (I was artificially aged 20 years, another gave up his childhood memories to a "lost soul" to gain passage through a nether realm).
I had fun and would show up again in either capacity: player or supporting cast (Non-player character).
