Hey AIC,

I've decided to give 2 FREE workshops this summer to train in Puppet Improv. The workshops are free, but limited to the 1st 14 people who sign up via our EventBrite site.

Puppet Manipulation
http://pip-manipulation-wrkshp.eventbrite.com/

Learn how to bring LIFE to inanimate objects and make ppl CARE about your CHARACTERS. Using scripts, games and a variety of puppet types & set pieces, students will explore and play with the basics of puppet manipulation -- eye contact, breath, staging, etc.

PREREQ: none
TEACHER: Sara Farr
REQUIRED SUPPLIES: none -- puppets will be provided
DATE: Saturday, June 18th 2011
TIME: 10am-12pm
LOCATION: Dougherty Arts Center

Improv with Puppets
http://pip-improv-wrkshp.eventbrite.com/

Learning to improvise outside your body (and into the body of a puppet) can be both liberating and eye-opening. In this 2 hour workshop, we get into some improv games & scenes to explore how improvising with puppets can get you closer to PLAY and out of your head. A fun class to take, whether you're looking to expand your improv tool-belt with puppets, or just looking for a fun afternoon with puppets.

PREREQ: Some puppet manipulation experience and beginning level improv training.
TEACHER: Sara Farr
REQUIRED SUPPLIES: none -- you are welcome to bring your own puppets, but puppets will also be provided.
DATE: Saturday, June 18th 2011
TIME: 1:00pm-3:00pm
LOCATION: Dougherty Arts Center

NOTICE: Due to the nature of improv, this workshop is PG-13 and not for kids.

Hey guys, the morning "Puppet Manipulation" class is full.

If you've done some puppet manipulation and want more experience doing improv puppetry, sign up for the 2nd class. There are a few more seats available. You have until 6/17 when the box office closes and I lock down the attendees so I can make plans for working with the students.
