Green Lantern TV Casting Call

Image

Like to dress up in character costume? Want to be in a TV ad?

With the help of Time Warner and DC Comics, Austin Books & Comics is producing it's first-ever TV ad campaign! We're promoting our line-up of special Green Lantern events and activities during June, and need a few able-bodied Green Lantern male and female costume characters to be featured in our TV spot.

Production shoot is scheduled for Thursday, June 2 (schedule details pending) and we provide the DC-licensed costume, courtesy of Lucy in Disguise with Diamonds. This is a volunteer gig, but think about how much bragging you'll get to do when you show up on TV as a Green Lantern!

If you're interested, send your photo, brief bio, and height/weight info no later than Monday, May 30 to info @ austinbooks.com. (remove the spaces for the email address)

I'm guessing Jesse's concern is similar to the big push graphic designers are making lately:

Yeah. Normally, my philosophy towards advertising is, if you have to be involved in it, make sure you get paid. The phrase is "selling your soul," not "giving your soul away."

But Austin Books is like a home to me. I've literally slept there. I wouldn't have a problem helping out Brad and his crew. If I had a Green Lantern costume, that is.
The silver knives are flashing in the tired old cafe. A ghost climbs on the table in a bridal negligee. She says "My body is the life; my body is the way." I raise my arm against it all and I catch the bride's bouquet.

bradisntclever hit the nail on the head.

Lately I've been willing to do some charity services provided that the brand I'm promoting (a business or an individual) can prominently display "Services donated by Spot On Films".

For every free gig that you do, it's true that other gigs will magically appear. A lot of opportunities in fact. But virtually none of them are offering currency, goods, or services. Hard to turn down a friend too. But time & time again I must remind myself that goods and services are useless when I can't pay the bills.

To Jordan & BradH: If it's a brand you love, go ahead & help promote it. My high horse isn't quite that high to preach never donate services.

I edited the info to clarify where to send the info. Just didn't want spambots to grab it.
