Free copy of my new CD for Imps!

Post by Deano »

Hey Everybody,

I finally finished a 10 song cd that I've been working on for almost a year and wanted to come tell my improv people first! It's going to be available on iTunes in a few days but I have made a small run of cd's to mail out for review, radio and stuff and I wanted to offer free copies to any of my improvising peeps who might be interested. It's kind of a rock, punk, country sounding bunch of songs that I'm especially proud of since I wrote, recorded, mixed and produced the entire cd myself. I even played all the instruments myself (except the insane pedal steel guitar played by my friend Dan Johnson).

Everything on this cd was done differently than I've ever done it before, and that's largely because of Improv. I feel truly indebted to you all for your inspiration. I'm so grateful for this community and am so honored that I've gotten to play with, and become such great friends with, so many of you. There's such beautiful and positive energy in this scene. I swear, everyday I feel lucky to be a part of it. Improvising has completely changed my life and it has also totally changed the way I write and create music. I actually "improvised" a lot of this cd. I pushed through and stayed the course even when I thought it wasn't working and got stuff I never would have gotten any other way. It was funny, so many times working on this music, improv mantras were popping in my head helping me navigate. I even wrote a song about my favorite improv troupe - GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS! (Well, the song "Girls, Girls, Girls" started as an homage to just the improv Queens, but I digressed :)

So please let me know when you see me if you'd like a copy, I'd love to share it with you all. I will undoubtedly have copies on me and be trying to shove them in your mouths anyway - not unlike a new father! And as well as being proud of my endeavor, I am now tasked with finding anyone who might like the sound of this and wanna come to a show. So if you like this stuff please share it. I'll post the iTunes link when it's up. I'm gonna play some shows this summer and will need help singing the chorus's!

Thanks for being so awesome.

Deano

Awesome, Deano! I definitely want a copy!
The silver knives are flashing in the tired old cafe. A ghost climbs on the table in a bridal negligee. She says "My body is the life; my body is the way." I raise my arm against it all and I catch the bride's bouquet.

Just a bumpity bump. I dunno if I saw everyone who said they wanted a cd and still have a couple dozen left for any peeps who might want one.

I'll be around at the Party's tomorrow night (Institution's new theater-yee haa!, and the Gnap! fundraiser) and will be playing Sat & Sun at the Hideout. Always have em on me so don't hesitate if you want one!
