Tarantulas on a Hovercraft

Post by kaci_beeler »

Hey Guys. I know some of you knew we (Pgraph) were working on our own Blanks on a Blank parody challenge over the past few weeks. We were assigned Tarantulas on a Hovercraft and we decided to do it as a classic silent film. Ratliff scored our final product (yay yay yay!) and it is now up on the website in competition with other films.
Anyone can create an account and vote on their favorites.
http://www.originalalamo.com/sites/2blanks/films.aspx

The favorite films win great prizes:
1st prize: 2 tickets to the premiere of Snakes on a Plane in Los Angeles, including 2 round trip airfares from any major airport in the continental United States and hotel accomodations for 1 night.

2nd prize: $500 cash

3rd prize: $250 cash

So if you like our film vote for us, if not that's cool too I guess.

(Psst, a majority of this was improvised, *wink wink*, and our 3,2,1 Kill! training helped us a lot too)

thanks!
Kaci

And according to the scores on the website, there's some serious cheating going on. This means war. Vote for our AIC brothers and sisters on at the website.

It's true. Apprently if you vote someone a score of "0" their points go down by 1. So our's seems to be oddly fluxuating in the 24-27 range right now. Back and forth.

Holy shit! That was awesome! Great job guys. The unicorn crew is not going to be done with anything in time...mainly because I suck. You've got my vote. Good luck!

Sweet Monkey Jesus, that's some fine silent action you got going on there. Supersweet, all around. Even if the cheaters beat you out, you win! Yay!

Yeah, I don't doubt there is a lot of cheating going on as far as trying to tank other people's videos with low scores. It's all a popularity contest.

I say, let's not stoop to bringing others down in order to raise ourselves, but let's sure as hell spread the word, take the time to vote, and simply out popular them!

And that goes for any other improv-related people that submit one, not just us (Orf and crew?). It would be awesome for the improv community to represent.

My hope is not for the monetary prizes listed above, but for the PR for us (and the community by proxy) of having our troupe name plastered up at the Alamo at the end of our film before every showing of Snakes on a Plane, in every Alamo venue, for the run of the film. They didn't say they'd show winning videos before the movie, but c'mon, it's the Alamo, it's what they do!
