Homecoming Weekend! Feb 18th and 19th

Post by smerlin »

Gnap! Theater Projects and partner company, The Merlin Works Institute for Improvisation are celebrating their third anniversary at Salvage Vanguard Theater with a special weekend of reunion shows, special appearances, dances, and parties for their Homecoming Weekend.

Alumni and current students will mix together Friday February 18th at 8pm for a short form and long form improv sets. Immediately afterward will be The Homecoming Dance, complete with punch bowls, slow dances, mums, and the crowning of the Homecoming Court.

Formats and troupes from throughout their three year history will make appearances on Saturday night. Improv 601 Graduation shows like Haunted, Heist, “____” or Bust, or Bad Company will take the stage once again. Former Gnap! Theater Projects troupes such as Continental Breakfast, Hugaday, Anticdotes, Blink, Technoforest of Doom, and The Intentions will reunite for one night only performances. Headlining the Saturday 8pm shows will be SVT favorites Get Up, starring the founders of Gnap! Theater Projects and Merlin Works, Shannon McCormick and Shana Merlin, and at 10pm house favorites and master improvisers, The Knuckleball Now.

We’re calling all of our current and former players and students to come mark three years of awesome theater and improv. So spread the word. Maybe this time, the drama nerds will have a better chance at winning Homecoming Queen.

Tickets available at http://http://gnaptheater.eventbrite.com/

Gah, I also think we've forgotten to mention this to the whole community, but if you're an improviser who wants to play tonight in either the shortform or directed longform show, we'll be having a lottery to have one improviser from the audience join each of the casts. Come throw your hat in the ring and possibly your talents on stage. Smooches.
