Re: Get Interviewed by the world's biggest Improv Blog!
On the year and three month anniversary maybe coming up and maybe behind us (collateral damage from War on Women; less use for Maths, don't ask), I thought I'd suggest that, if you keep bloggin' despite all them haters, you might want to pick up for nickels on the dime all the podcasts that were ...

Re: Is there an Austin style of improv yet?
I'm using the parlance of UCB's upcoming book, and its how they use their terms. Assssscat's are premise based, which means the audience knows what it is based on, that they are latching onto ideas everyone has seen and heightening. Organic scenes are from scratch, just a suggestion if that, and ...

Re: Is there an Austin style of improv yet?
I really like that, Roy! Annoyance style and iO style wouldn't be distinguishable when Del Close was alive and kicking (so to speak)... almost all of the improv forms I learned at Coldtowne as Chicago style were actually in reality either one of the mad rituals of The Family (invocation, movie, la ...

Re: Smartest Guy in the Room Syndrome
Uh, that was from days ago; I got to my laptop and opened up Nightly and when restoring tabs I guess it decided to post. Anyway, sorry for the bumpage, and it looks weird being an unedited half-post, but before I deleted it I read enough to feel its technically how I believe/feel, so I think I'll ...

Re: Smartest Guy in the Room Syndrome
Part of me, that is, all of the dumb parts of me, has a hard time with this, almost to the point where I'm thinking you're talking about playing to the height of your/ your character's intelligence. I know that's not true, and that we're talking about making your character... That's why I prefered ...

Slightly less so than Wagner's Nibelung Cycle; on par with Tom Cruise being slightly less so than me.
{Here is Wagner's Ring Cycle:
[1 abc] Das Rheingold (The Rhine Gold)
[2abc] Die Walküre (The Valkyrie)
[3abc] Siegfried
[?abc] Götterdämmerung (Twilight of the Gods)

An emphatic "absolutely!" to everything Jose Gonzales! I still watch the Galapagos invocation video from OOB like six years ago. I remember interning super-hard to get a discount on his workshop, which I took as a level 1 student and changed my life (no romo).

Re: Is there an Austin style of improv yet?
If you read about the history of longform improv and the like, "Improvised ________" got started in Chicago; in one book I read, Tom Booker was credited with creating it over at Annoyance.

Yeah
Walsh was also the voice in the group that pushed for getting UCB accredited, and that got done pretty quickly. I'm on my phone, so I didn't see what source was linked above, but he's stated Austin-is-next on at least two podcasts, and Austin has a pretty strong reputation for comedy consumption ...

I was just going to say its important never to make excuses, always be on time.
And, if you must be so, don't draw out the tedious things.
I was thinking about Arizona and the Daylight Savings Theory through me off. I promise this isn't a lapse, and I'm absolutely sure I'll post on time ...

Just for clarity, to what are you referring when you described it as strong... the assertion that there ARE arbitrary preclusions of at least several improvisers, the whining about it being a "humiliation," or my belief that itll pull together and be as strong as it possibly could given the ...
