Re: 44 Hour Improv Marathon

I dunno if I've announced my intent on here or not, but I'm currently planning on trying to attend EVERY SINGLE SHOW OF THE MARATHON. I understand something similar was accomplished by a certain group of four last year, and I hope to recreate the triumph. Hopefully at least somebody else will be ...

Re: 44 Hour Marathon VOLUNTEERS!

I'm planning on going to the whole marathon, so I can tech any shows that you can't get any for. My only specific request is that I get to tech the final show. Outside that, I'll just fill any holes.

EDIT: Make sure you specify that it's Paul Normadin on the 5PM show and me on the 1PM Sunday, don't ...

Gaki no Tsukai (Or, I Can't Stop Watching Japanese TV)

So, I discovered this amazing show called "Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende!!" (ダウンタウンのガキの使いやあらへんで!! if you really must know), or Gaki no Tsukai for short. I've been likening it to the Japanese version of Jackass.

Re: Entering Improv: The Forum Blog

I actually didn't expect to make a post until next weekend. I really didn't. But here we are.

Next weekend, I start my first class as a student at the Hideout Theatre. Tonight, I saved a Maestro sketch.

But, let's start from the beginning. Tonight, I started my internship at the theater to get ...

Woohoo! I know you guys have been aiming for this for a while, so to hear that it's finally happened is super exciting! I can't wait to see what you'll do with the place.

I ship the two Andys.

This weekend, I caught The Black Vault at the Hideout with several (very talented and incredible) friends (that I am not worthy of being spoken in the same breath with, holy poop those guys are talented). For those of you living under a rock, The Black Vault is formatted as a sequence of three ...

I just took my first class tonight.

Needless to say, it was an experience. I went in with no expectations whatsoever. I didn't expect to dislike it (which I didn't), but I was perfectly willing to accept that I would dislike it if it came to that.

Not the case. I've never felt more at ease in my ...

Wow validation and really great advice

you can have the other 300$

No, but seriously, thanks a massive amount! I'm not gonna lie, I didn't expect this much of a response before I even took my first class! I kinda thought it would take a while to get the ball rolling on this.

Also, good call ...

Entering Improv: The Forum Blog

So, September 5th (in just over a week), I will be taking my first ever improv class at the Hideout Theatre. It'll be the initial free demo class, at which point I'll evaluate and decide if I want to take the first level classes. (The answer will be yes.)

Basically, this thread will be myself ...

My first show was actually Pgraph, ages ago. I don't remember the format exactly, but I do remember that they did something with the girls, then something with the guys (Adventure Squad and the vaudevillian Batter and Jahnik). I actually ended up making a suggestion! (Not bad for my young dumb self ...
