Rockband

Hey y'all,

I cannot find the room to take my Rockband set (along with both Rockband and the Beatles Rockband games) for the Xbox 360.

If you would like it for a nominal donation of alcohol, let me know.

I saw Josie play Benedick in an all woman's Much Ado About Nothing at The Globe in 2004. She killed it.

And as has been insinuated on several recent threads on this forum, I generally find more women improvisers than men that I'm excited to work with because they are more inclined to be ...

What constitutes an improvised play?

Hey y'all,

I've been ruminating on this topic since the Improvised Play Festival was announced.

Right now it seems to me that when people are talking about improvised plays they are referring to genre and/or narrative improv This is interesting on the genre side because the majority of influences ...

Rehearsal Amount

I've been thinking about the difference in the amount of time for rehearsing an improvised show versus a scripted one lately.

With Showdown we did five hours a week for six weeks. I think we could've had a couple more weeks to really work on language and really hit stage picture/dynamic even more ...

I love that trailer. Checking out the Opening Night show!

When I first heard the title of this show, I was pretty skeptical. But I think this is incredibly awesome risk to take in an improvised setting. Dionysus in 69 was an amazingly engaging, challenging, wild show and little of that had to do with subject matter.

So much of what we preach in improv is ...

Hey AIC,

We're sold out tonight, but swing by after the show for free Republic tequila, beer, sundries, and dancing.

Cheers,

Avimaan

I am incredibly excited to work with all these wonderful individuals and the diverse theatrical backgrounds they draw from ...

It was great having so many faces there yesterday! I'm very grateful for the big ol' passel of you who stayed for Showdown auditions--there was some truly inspiring stuff, and I wish I could take all the people I want instead of just the limited amount I need for the cast.

This show was amazing last night, kind of like a demented take on Nick and Nora from The Thin Man Series.

And, yes, Hemingway was a character, and, yes, Hemingway was amazing.

Yeah, the schedule looks awesome. I don't know if it's a good or bad thing that there will be two darkly theatrical shows running at once in the spring (Noir and Avi's Deadwood inspired western, Showdown).

Most definitely a good thing. What a scene.
Except that I can't do both at once.
Bugger ...

This is a very intriguing thread. Some thoughts:

1. People are incredibly sensitive about their art. Art is humanity trying to represent itself to the world, and the potential of getting rejected in that setting makes people very vulnerable.

2. I think it's incredibly difficult to find people you ...

Improvised Monopoly 09/18 and 09/24 at SVT

Improvised Monopoly is a longform narrative improv show developed for Gnap! Theater's experimental Just Like the Rodeo Festival. Honoring the world of the classic board game, come see who from Thimble, Iron, Wheelbarrow and the rest can grab control of Atlantic City's Boardwalk!

There will be two ...

Dave! I remember you too! Computer rocks! Everyone should see them! Exclamation points!
