Not in Austin anymore but still reading and replying.

I've always use 'group' but since the question was 'team or troupe' I'll choose 'troupe' because it sounds the most like 'group'.

Why don't we individually and collectively just do good improv, assess the performances that we were personally responsible for in an honest way, and...not give a fuck what anyone, press or otherwise, has to say about us?

I agree with what Emily said, that the audience will fill in details and context (and then they will get to be active participants, too, in the creation process, which is I think one of the things that makes improv so great to watch).
