i am brought figuratively to my knees and literally to tears at least once a month by cramps.

interestingly enough, its always towards the end of my period. like when i think its about to be over. and i forget what happened Every month since i was 10. and it flattens me.

My periods have been more milder ever since I got off of that nuisance called "the pill". I have a little stuffed dog that smells of lavender and can be heated up in the microwave. He is a good buddy for that time of the month.

Off-topic:
So ladies, have any of you put glitter in your pubic hair for a little extra sparkle & fun!? eh?!
My crush totally loves it!

Hey Kaci, get Shana to tell you the (true) story about the woman who mistook her daughter's spray-on glitter for feminine deodorant spray.

Are you there, God? It's me, Monique!

I've been having my period for a really long time. Probably as long as Kaci's been alive! Hell, I remember my first box of pads. They were really thick and the box was bigger than Cheerios from Costco! The box had a pinkish watercolor painting of a woman riding a horse. Over the years, menstrual technology has improved! Now I pay $7 for a box of organic cotton tampons. Someone is getting rich off my blood!

I am so fortunate to have a community of awesome, funny women to talk openly about my menses with in a supportive, loving environment! Someday, when I finally work up the courage to put glitter in my pubes, I'll feel comfortable posting a photo here on the boards!

My periods aren't so bad. It's been years since you have reminded me of the suffering brought on by that harpy Eve via my monthly penance for the sins of woman!

And thank you for blessing us with John Ratliff, who thinks menstruation is HOT! So many men running screaming from it, so I gotta give props to the man that runs TO it. And thank you for Douglas Coupland, who wrote about "chunky days" in Microserfs, which is the best book ever.

Thank you for blessing me with relentless fertility, which I have no intention of ever making use of.

Stay free, always,
Monique

How fascinating. How do you feel yourself ovulating? Some woman talk about a sharp pain.

I don't get cramps. Yay!

After chafing from my 10 miler while wearing my always pad, I found out about organic cotton pads and I made an order...
This is why I'm looking forward to my next period.

You can get sponges and cups too.
