The Flying Spaghetti Monster would not approve, so I can't.Wesley wrote:Also, today is Diwali. Feel free to come dressed as your favorite Hindu entity. Happy Diwali!
I was wondering though if we could play a few games or do some exercises that touch long(er) form. Maybe have a story thread through the games? Just an idea, I don't know if the Jam is the right place for this.
Cheers,

Wes,
I'd like to do something, eventually, with body work. I'm not terribly comfortable with moving on stage. I was hoping it would be something specific to work on, like that Diamond Dance thing. That thing where they just say, "walk around, now go faster, now go slower" isn't something that helps me; yet anyway.
Peace

When you habitually play on the train tracks, you forfeit the right to whine when you get hit by a train.

Also, new jam service starting tonight!
Several of you have approached me for more personal notes. Not knowing everyone's comfort level getting notes at a jam, I try not to give too many personal notes in public (I do some, but I generally try to focus notes more on the exercise than the individual).
If you would like more personal notes about your own performance after the jam, please send me a PM or speak to me before the jam begins. I'm going to try to take more notes throughout and provide you with a more private, personalized feedback if you want it.

Maybe we should set up a Viewpoints workshop for improvisors. Some of the warmups involve "go faster / go slower," but the heart of the work is developing your bodily intuition, trust and group mind. I've studied both Viewpoints and Suzuki movement, and have found both to be very enlightening and valuable as a performer.Katie_Q wrote:I'd like to do something, eventually, with body work.
