I'm with you. Be strong, brother!
The silver knives are flashing in the tired old cafe. A ghost climbs on the table in a bridal negligee. She says "My body is the life; my body is the way." I raise my arm against it all and I catch the bride's bouquet.

I tried listening to this song since I'm a world member, but I couldn't get past the first 15 seconds. (I somehow never heard the Thong Song either. Maybe I should just be true to myself) How did so many people pay homage to this one song? The Roots? A baseball team?
I heard of her because she toured with Justin Bieber and that televised tour was on the only channel we could receive via my mom's antenna last Wednesday. How did so many people grow to love this boy? Usher magic? This stuff touches something I don't have?

Let me destroy this song for a moment. (Note: I may reference a few other reviewers of this song, but the points need to be reiterated.)

I threw a wish in a well.
Don't ask me, I'll never tell.

Okay then. I guess there's no need to labor the point-

I looked to you as it fell,
now you're in my way.

First, you said you'd never tell. Second, how can I be in your way if I'm just standing here?

I trade my soul for a wish,
pennies and dimes for a kiss,

Again, you said you'd never tell. You're a liar, you know that?

I wasn't looking for this,
but now you're in my way.

Actually, you were looking for this, you idiot: you just said you traded your soul for a wish and pennies and dimes for a kiss: pennies and dimes made for a wish you were supposed to never tell us about. (Just notice how these lyrics snowball on themselves).

Your stare was holding,
ripped jeans, skin was showing

Okay. I'll agree I'm just standing there at how stupid you sound, despite somehow being "in your way." So, you can go ahead and pass now, you stupid little-

It's hard to look right
at you baby,
but here's my number,
so call me maybe

Of course: being the wierdo you are, it's hard to look right at a traffic light.

And all the other boys
try to chase me,
but here's my number
so call me maybe

You tease. You have interested boys chasing you? I don't know who's crazier: you for dumping them for a disinterested guy like me, or them for wanting a nut like you.

You took your time with the call,
I took no time with the fall

Of course. I've seen Fatal Attraction.

You gave me nothing at all,
but still you're in my way.

Of course not: I don't want you poking holes in my condoms. And how am I still in your way? Maybe she's referring to that fact that I don't want to consent. (Thanks, writers of this song: you just implied rape!)

I beg and borrow and steal,
at first sight and it's real

"Yes, 911? I'd like to report a theft, and be careful with this one: she's mentally disturbed."

I didn't know I would feel it
but it's in my way.

Feel what? The urge to murder? And if it's love, NO MEANS NO!!!

Before you can into my life,
I missed you so bad, I missed you so bad,
I missed you so so bad/And you should know that.

HAVE YOU BEEN STALKING ME?!

So call me maybe

You know what? No. I'm never going to call you. In fact, for giving me this number, I'm not only going to block you, but I'm going to the police with it, because I feel threatened for my life right now with your rapey little cutesy bullshit posing as innocence.

In summary, to Carley Rae Jepsen, Josh Ramsay, and Tavish Crowe:
FUCK YOUR SONG AND FUCK YOU TOO!!!

Sincerely,
THE WORLD

People said the same thing about "Who Let The Dogs Out", "The Macarena", "Had A Bad Day", and "Everybody Have Fun Tonight".

Come back to this song in a few months. We'll see.

well, i've already been a fan of it for months, so i'm secure in my enjoyment. 8) there's a difference between disposable novelty songs and good, fun pop songs.

and don't you DARE speak ill of the majesty and wonder of Wang Chung in my presence, young man!
