Improv 501 at Merlin Works

Postby smerlin » January 2nd, 2013, 2:08 pm

We are only offering one narrative longform class this session, and it's Improv 501 with Michael Joplin.

The class is all about simple techniques for initiating the next scene in a story so it's intuitive and fun. And you'll be in the presence of one of the funnest guys I know, Mr Bippety Bop himself, Michael Joplin.

Get in on this sweetness at the new ZACH Theatre.

Improv 501: Introduction to Improvised Comedic Plays
Inspired by the mythic hero’s journey, we begin to put together scenes to create longer, more complicated stories focused around a central character. Each week we learn different techniques for initiating the next scene in the story such as establishing secondary characters, edits and wipes, exploring environment, emotional journeys, pursuing objectives and shaping the show. (8 meetings. Class Size Limit = 12)

Tuesdays 7:30 – 10pm | January 15th – March 5th | with Michael Joplin
