Hideout Workshop w/ Cody Dearing Jan. 2nd

Postby TexasImprovMassacre » December 27th, 2012, 5:41 pm

Hihi,

I will be teaching a workshop at the hideout on Jan. 2nd that I wanted to let people know about. The workshop is $5 for hideout students and $10 for everyone else.

The description of the workshop is below. Its one that I have done a couple of times now as a hideout elective. I always have a lot of fun teaching this material, and I get to meet cool new people (Hal 9000!)

So, I hope to see you there if you're interested!
Thank you

If Ghostbusters taught us anything (but what didn’t it teach us?) it is that four individual lasers aren’t as powerful as those lasers combined into ONE GIANT SUPER LASER. Our powers as improvisers are also stronger when we work together. This workshop will focus on the practical skills that help improvisers build their scenes together: Simple listening and reacting. Working line by line. Identifying a mutual focus. Being aware of your position in the scene.

About me: I am a graduate of ColdTowne and IO Chicago. I have studied with instructors from several theaters in Austin as well as with instructors from UCB, The Annoyance, Second City, and others. I am currently a teacher at ColdTowne where I am also the Artistic Director and Conservatory Dean. This year several of my very polite peers at ColdTowne chose me as the "best teacher" for 2012. I have a great passion for improv, and I hope to share it with you if you choose to attend.

This workshop is tomorrow!

The details of the cost of these hideout electives has changed.

The class costs $10 for non hideout students, and currently enrolled Hideout Level students are $5. Email Andy Crouch for the discount code at classes@hideouttheater.com.

When are you going to get a straight shot of Cody Dearing for $10? Almost never, right? So take this opportunity to come out tomorrow night!
